NEW ORLEANS, La. – The St. Olaf College men's track and field was ranked No. 21 in this week's NCAA Division III Men's Track & Field National Track & Field Rating Index (TFRS) at Checkpoint #3, as announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
St. Olaf picked up its third consecutive top-25 national ranking this week as results continued to come in across the country with a little over one month until the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Oles were one of three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) programs in the top 25 this week, along with No. 14 Bethel University and the No. 23 College of St. Scholastica.
This week, St. Olaf had six individuals and one relay ranked in the top 25 in an individual event (see list below). The Oles also had three event groups ranked in the top 20 nationally, including the top-ranked 800-meter group in NCAA Division III. St. Olaf was also ranked No. 11 in the 5,000-meter run and No. 19 in the one-mile run.
St. Olaf will divide up its team between the Midwest Elite Invitational 5K (Friday), SDSU Indoor Classic (Friday), Ted Nelson Classic (Saturday), and UW-Stout Quad (Saturday) this weekend.
