ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's track and field team compiled 10 top-five finishes at the unscored inaugural Bethel Invitational on Saturday at a rainy Royal Stadium.
Five of St. Olaf's top-10 performances, including two of its four runner-up finishes, came in the throws. Senior
Andrew Mollison and first year
Ryan Edelman cracked the program's all-time top-10 list in the shot put and hammer throw, respectively.
Coming off a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) indoor title in the event, sophomore
Cade Feist led a 2-3 finish for the Oles in the shot put by taking second with a mark of 15.12 meters (49' 7 ¼"). Mollison's third-place throw of 14.52 meters (47' 7 ¾") moved him into 10th on St. Olaf's all-time list and ranks third in the conference this season.

Sebastian Loder recorded St. Olaf's top individual finish on the track by running to a runner-up finish in the 400-meter run (50.32). He also anchored the Oles' second-place 4x400-meter relay (3:25.51) that included first year
Alex Bittner, sophomore
Devin McNearny, and junior
Henry Fisher.
Sophomore
Layton Borst was one of two Oles in the top four in the javelin throw, placing second with a mark of 45.10 meters (147' 11"). Sophomore
Andrew Cogley was fourth in the event with a throw of 41.60 meters (136' 5").
Edelman cracked St. Olaf's top-10 list in the hammer throw by placing fourth (46.36m, 152' 11") with the fifth-best mark in the MIAC this season. Fisher added a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter run (22.78), while sophomore
Dylan Arnold was fourth in the pole vault (4.55m, 14' 11"). Sophomore
Sean Hartney logged a fifth-placing showing in the 1,500-meter run (4:05.07) as well.
St. Olaf sends a group of 10K runners to the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse, Wis. on Friday, April 21, while the rest of the team is next in action at the Host Invitational at Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday, April 22.
