ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senior
Annika Muller registered the top mark in the long jump in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season, as the St. Olaf College women's track and field team placed third at the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational on Saturday at Macalester Stadium.
Competing in her first outdoor meet of the season, Muller won the long jump by nearly a foot with a mark of 5.38 meters (17' 8") to log one of nine top-five finishes in the meet for St. Olaf. As a team, the Oles finished third in the 19-team standings with 80 points, trailing Bethel University (121) and Carleton College (83.5).

Christine Albrecht joined Muller in winning an event by crossing the line first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:11.64 with just over a 10-second margin of victory. St. Olaf had three of the top-six finishers in the 800-meter run, as sophomore
Sophie Abernethy was third (2:22.53), first year
Ella Landis was fourth (2:23.43), and junior
Sophie Call was sixth (2:23.54).
The Oles had three more top-five finishes on the track, as sophomore
Emma Sahly finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:12.34), junior
Bella Call took fourth in the 1,500-meter run (4:52.73), and first year
Isabel Wyatt was fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:02.05).
Senior
Julia Cordes cleared 3.00 meters (9' 10") to finish fourth in the pole vault, while sophomore
Emma Johnson recorded a fifth-place showing in the discus throw (36.15m, 118' 7").
St. Olaf heads to the University of St. Thomas for the Tommie Twilight on Wednesday, May 3 before the MIAC Pentathlon on Thursday and Friday, May 4-5. The Oles then host the Ole Open on Saturday, May 6 to close out a busy week.
