KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior
Cat Duffy-Shaw, junior
Katie Beaudry, senior
Sadie Klassen, and sophomore
Emily Johnson from the St. Olaf College women's soccer team all earned spots on the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's All-Region IX Teams, as announced on Tuesday.
Duffy-Shaw and Beaudry were named to the second team, Klassen landed a spot on the third team, and Johnson was a fourth-team honoree. St. Olaf's four all-region selections were the most in recorded program history. Duffy-Shaw was recognized for the second season in a row, while the other three Oles collected their first all-region honors.
Duffy-Shaw joined Deanne Schmidt '12 as the lone multiple-time all-region selections in recorded program history after moving up from the third team a year ago to the second team this year. The junior secured her third consecutive All-MIAC accolade after posting a career-high 10 points on two goals and a team- and career-high six assists while starting all 20 games in the center of midfield. Duffy-Shaw's six assists this season rank tied for sixth in recorded program history.
Another All-MIAC selection, Beaudry anchored a St. Olaf defense that held its opponents to just 15 goals in 20 games and established a new program-record with 13 shutouts this season. The junior also chipped in offensively with nine points on four goals and one assist from her spot at center back while ranking second among field players on the team in minutes played (1,692).
Klassen led the Oles with 11 goals and 22 points in her senior season after returning to the field following a year out with injury. The senior, who gathered her second All-MIAC accolade, scored in nine of the 17 games she played in this fall. Klassen's 11 goals were the most by an Ole in a season since 2018 and rank tied for sixth in a season in recorded program history.
Johnson compiled 17 points on seven goals and three assists during her sophomore campaign to rank second to Klassen on the team in goals and points. The sophomore led St. Olaf with four game-winning goals in a season that saw her earn All-MIAC honors for the second season in a row to begin her career.
In its first season under head coach
Molly Fiedler, St. Olaf set a new program record in wins this fall with a 14-3-3 season that included the program's second-ever victory in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoffs during a run to the semifinals.
