NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Eighty-nine St. Olaf College student-athletes were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma in the St. Olaf Athletic Department's third annual ceremony on Monday evening.

St. Olaf's class of 89 inductees represented all 26 of the College's varsity sport programs and included 79 juniors and 10 seniors. Established in 1996, Chi Alpha Sigma is a non-profit organization that recognizes college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition and is the first and only academic fraternity that specifically honors four-year collegiate student-athletes for the athletic and academic successes.

Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college student-athletes who participate in a sport at the varsity intercollegiate level, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full-time semester, and earn a 3.40 or higher cumulative grade-point average. St. Olaf established its chapter – the fifth in the state of Minnesota – in November 2021 and inducted its first class on April 18, 2022.

Over its three years of inductions, St. Olaf has recognized 317 student-athletes for their academic and athletic accomplishments. Monday evening's event included remarks from Athletic Director Ryan Bowles, President Susan Rundell Singer, student speaker senior Hannah Peschel, and guest speaker Jon Pearce '01, who is a men's track and field alumnus.

This spring, the inductees - listed below in alphabetical order - will be honored as part of St. Olaf's Honors Day program and seniors will receive a set of cords to wear at Commencement. The induction ceremony can be viewed on demand here.
