MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Seniors
Christine Albrecht and
Annika Muller both won events, as the No. 25-ranked St. Olaf College women's track and field team and the men's team competed at the unscored Gopher Classic on Saturday at the University of Minnesota.
Albrecht won the 800-meter run and Muller placed first in the long jump for the St. Olaf women, who were ranked No. 25 in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI).
Albrecht posted the seventh-fastest time (converted) of the season in NCAA Division III in the 800-meter run at 2:14.38 while clocking in with the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC)'s fastest time of the season at 2:15.93. The time of 2:15.93 ranks third on St. Olaf all-time list in the event.
Muller won the long jump by over eight inches with a mark of 5.45 meters (17' 10 ¾"), establishing a net meet record with the MIAC's second-best mark of the season. The senior's result also bettered her own third-best mark in program history by half an inch and her jump currently ranks 29th in the country.

Melanie Roberts added runner-up finishes for the Oles on the day. Walda was second in the 3,000-meter run (10:42.29) and was joined in the top four by sophomore
Gracia Larsen-Schmidt (10:51.00), while Roberts took second in the pole vault by clearing 3.16 meters (10' 4 ¼") for the second-best clearance in the MIAC this season.
Junior
Gabe Estrada recorded the highest finish of the day for the St. Olaf men by placing second in the 600-meter run (1:25.58), while the Oles' 4x400-meter relay of junior

Miles Townsend was also second (3:34.75).
Senior
Sean Souksavath logged a third-place performance in the triple jump with a mark of 12.97 meters (42' 6 ¾"), which ranks stands fourth in the MIAC this season. Sophomore
Dylan Arnold recorded the conference's third-best clearance in the pole vault this indoor season by clearing 4.31 meters (14' 1 ¾") to place fifth.
In the 3,000-meter run, junior

Olaf Coffey were among four Oles in the top-eight finishers by placing third (8:44.84) and fifth (8:47.47), respectively.
Both St. Olaf teams head to the UW-Stout Invitational in Menomonie, Wis. on Friday, Feb. 10. The women's team will also send three runners – Albrecht, sophomore
Sofia Carlson, and sophomore
Alison Bode – to compete in the 3,000-meter run at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University that same day.
