Bocovich wins 10K, Oles second to start MIAC Outdoor Championships

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Thanks in part to a first-place finish in the 10,000-meter run from senior Logan Bocovich, the St. Olaf College men's track and field team sat in second place after the opening day of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships held on Friday at Royal Stadium on the campus of Bethel University.

Bocovich led a 1-2-4-5 finish for St. Olaf in the 10,000-meter run by winning the event in 30:52.84 to become the first Ole to win the event since Phil Meyer won back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015. Kramarczuk paced three Oles who scored in the long jump, adding a second-place finish outdoors to his runner-up showing indoors. The senior took the lead in the second round with a jump of 6.76 meters (22' 2 ¼") and held onto it until Zach Schaffer of Saint John's won the title with a mark of 6.98 meters (22' 10 ¾") in the fifth round.
