ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's track and field team had three all-conference performances and was third in the team standings after the opening day of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Klas Field.
Junior
Andrew Skemp and senior
David Lynn accounted for two of St. Olaf's three top-three finishes on the day with second and third-place performances in the 10,000-meter run. The Oles added a third-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay while earning 52 points in the team standings to sit third.
Skemp logged St. Olaf's highest placement of the day with his runner-up finish in the 10,000-meter run (31:10.16) to earn All-MIAC honors for the third season in a row in the event (2nd in 2023, 3rd in 2022). Lynn picked up his first All-MIAC accolade in the event with his third-place finish (31:33.77), while sophomore
Gael Manzur Strandlund added an honorable-mention sixth-place finish (31:56.75) to give the Oles three scorers and 17 points in the event.

Gabe Estrada ran to a third-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay (7:52.87) to record St. Olaf's third all-conference result of the opening day. St. Olaf added six honorable-mention performances in addition to the three All-MIAC honors.

Dylan Arnold secured Honorable Mention All-MIAC honors in the pole vault outdoors for the second season in a row with a fourth-place clearance of 4.30 meters (14' 1 ¼"). First year

Eh Ler Moo both compiled honorable-mention showings in the long jump, with Albertson taking fourth (6.78m, 22' 3") and Moo placing sixth (6.60m, 21' 8").
Coffey and senior
Ian Curtis both registered top-six finishes in the 1,500-meter run to lead four St. Olaf scorers and five Oles in the top nine in the event. Curtis was roughly 1.5 seconds off the winning pace in fourth (3:53.78), while Coffey was sixth (3:58.37).
Three Oles also earned spots in Saturday's event finals in the prelims on the track. Senior
Demetri Lord qualified sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.44), sophomore
Cullen Moore qualified seventh in the 800-meter run (1:56.31), and junior
Tyler Gunderson qualified ninth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.00).
