MANKATO, Minn./WHITEWATER, Wis. – Sophomore
Max Albertson recorded the top long jump in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season, as five members of the St. Olaf College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Maverick Premier #2 and Midwest Elite Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
As the lone Ole to compete in Mankato on Saturday, Albertson won the triple jump and was fifth in the long jump a day after four Oles ran in strong fields in the 5,000-meter run at UW-Whitewater. Albertson's mark of 7.08 meters (23' 2 ¾") in the long jump moved him up to second on St. Olaf's all-time list and ranks 26th in NCAA Division III this season, in addition to being the top jump in the conference. Albertson also won the triple jump with a mark of 13.18 meters (43' 3").

Sofia Carlson all placed in the top 10 in the 5,000-meter run for the St. Olaf women while posting top-five times in the MIAC. Bode took fifth (17:31.89), Walda finished sixth (17:34.25), and Carlson was ninth (17:47.33). Junior
Gael Manzur Strandlund finished 29th (14:52.11) for the Ole men.
St. Olaf will host the Tostrud Classic on Friday, Feb. 21 in its final meet before the MIAC Indoor Championships. Field events will begin at 5 p.m. and track events will start at 6 p.m.
