NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's track and field team won six events on its way to a first-place team finish at the Tostrud Classic on Saturday at the Tostrud Center.
Five Oles recorded individual event victories and St. Olaf won the 4x200-meter relay to compiled 144 points in the team standings. The 144 points were 21.5 more than second-place Macalester College, as Oles competed in their final meet before next week's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships.
In his first time competing in the event this season, junior
Will Kelly bettered his own ninth-best time in program history in the 3,000-meter run by winning the event in 8:34.60, which ranks fifth in the conference this season. Kelly led a 1-2-3-4 finish for the Oles in the event along with seniors

Derk Lyford and sophomore
Waylon Kurts.

Samuel Gwin finished first in 1:33.11, which ranks third in the MIAC this season and 10th on St. Olaf's all-time list by four one-hundredths of a second.

Dylan Arnold registered the meet's top clearance in the pole vault by clearing 4.37 meters (14' 4") to win the event ahead of senior
Lars Askegaard, who cleared 3.86 meters (12' 8").
Senior
Lucas Kramarczuk led a 1-2-4-5 finish for St. Olaf in the long jump with a winning jump of 6.54 meters (21' 5 ½"), which ranks third in the MIAC. Moo took second in the event (6.39m, 20' 11 ¾"), while sophomore
Josh Charlton was fourth (6.19m, 20' 3 ¾") and junior
Demetri Lord was fifth (6.16m, 20' 2 ½").
In the shot put, senior
Andrew Mollison cracked St. Olaf's all-time top-10 list by one centimeter with a winning throw of 14.32 meters (46' 11 ¾") for one of two wins in the throws for the Oles. First year
Ryan Edelman added a first-place performance in the weight throw (14.46m, 47' 5 ¼"), while senior
Arnauld Dedry was fourth in both the shot put and weight throw.
St. Olaf also had three runner-up finishes on the day, including a second-place showing by sophomore
Olaf Coffey in the one-mile run in 2:33.44, which is third in the conference. Junior
Matthew Nissen was second in the 60-meer hurdles in 9.07 seconds.
The Oles' 4x400-meter relay joined the 4x200-meter relay on St. Olaf's all-time top-10 list, moving into 10th by one one-hundredth of a second with a second-place finish in 3:28.27.
St. Olaf heads to Macalester College for the MIAC Indoor Championships from Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 23-25.
