NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's track and field team had seven first-place finishes at the Tostrud Classic in its final preparation for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Tostrud Center.
Six of St. Olaf's seven event wins came on the track in the unscored meet as six Oles won an individual event. Five other Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) programs attended the meet, plus UW-River Falls.
Sophomore
Kevin Turlington turned in the MIAC's second-fastest time in the one-mile run this season with a winning time of 4:14.86. When converted for the national leaderboard, Turlington's time of 4:11.65 sits in the top 50 nationally.
St. Olaf had the top-five finishers in the 3,000-meter run, led by sophomore
Parker Max with a time of 8:36.71. Max was followed by senior
David Lynn (8:45.60), junior
Andrew Skemp (8:47.64), junior
Sean Hartney (8:48.36), and senior
Anders Cote (8:52.64). The Oles also had three of the first four finishers in the 1,000-meter run, paced by a first-place performance by sophomore
Ignatius Fitzgerald in 2:30.47, which ranks ninth on St. Olaf's all-time list. Junior
Jackson Marsh (2:33.27) and senior
Ian Curtis (2:34.12) were third and fourth in the event, respectively.

Will Lapinski broke onto the program's all-time list in 10th with a winning time of 3:28.01. The Oles' other three first-place finishes came from Fisher in the 200-meter dash (23.14), sophomore
Lance Nemecek in the 600-meter run (1:24.81), and junior
Eh Ler Moo in the long jump (6.61m, 21' 8 ¼").
The MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships come to Tostrud Center from Thursday, Feb. 22 through Saturday, Feb. 24.
