MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's track and field team recorded 14 top-five finishes at the Gopher Classic on Saturday at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse.
Junior
Lance Nemecek broke the meet record in the 600-meter run with a winning time of 1:22.66 to lead the way for St. Olaf. That time ranks third in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season and fifth on St. Olaf's all-time list. Junior

Seniors
Sean Hartney and
Olaf Coffey placed second and third, respectively, in the one-mile run. Hartney's time of 4:15.02 ranks fifth in the MIAC and 39th in NCAA Division III, while Coffey's time of 4:15.59 is also in the top 50 nationally.
Senior
Andrew Skemp led a 2-3-4-5-6 finish for the Oles in the 3,000-meter run with a runner-up time of 8:37.98. Junior
Gael Manzur Strandlund was the next to cross the line in 8:46.62, followed by junior Ignatius Fitzerald (8:51.04), junior
Parker Max (8:51.73), and sophomore
Quinn McCabe (8:51.76).

Austin McInturff ran the MIAC's second-fastest time in the event this season (3:26.82) to place fourth and break onto St. Olaf's all-time list in 10th. Bullock also took fourth in the 800-meter run (1:56.87), while Escobar Pearson was fourth in the 200-meter dash (23.03) with a time that was .03 seconds off the program's all-time list.
Sophomore
Max Albertson was fourth overall – second among NCAA Division III participants – in the long jump with a mark of 6.55 meters (21' 6").
St. Olaf will send competitors to the UW-Stout Quad and UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14.
