Hall of Fame
David Krahn was a two-year letterwinner in football. He was named the team's MVP as a junior and senior and was selected to the All-Midwest Conference Team as a senior. He was named to the 1966 first Lutheran Colleges and Universities Team by the Lutheran Brotherhood Bond. He established St. Olaf rushing records his junior and senior years (942 and 1,030 yards, respectively). He is currently tied for the most career rushing yards per carry at St. Olaf (6.4).
After graduating from St. Olaf, Dave served in the U.S. Army from 1967-69, including one year with the 4th Infantry Division Medical Unit in Vietnam. He earned his Ph.D. in oncology from the University of Wisconsin in 1976. From 1976-2002, he worked for DuPont Company. Early in his career, he was responsible for groups devoted to various aspects of industrial and occupational toxicology, and later, within DuPont Pharmaceuticals, Dave joined 3M Company Pharmaceuticals in 2002 and directed and supported the group responsible for designing and implementing toxicology programs to support the selection and development of pharmaceutical drugs. He retired in January of 2008, with the sale of 3M Pharmaceuticals.
He is currently in his third year as the board President of Daily Work, a non-profit organization that helps job seekers with significant barriers to employment, to prepare for, seek, obtain and retain living-wage jobs.Â
Dave and Linnea Larsen '70 are the proud parents of two children, Peter '96 and Gretchen '98, and the grandparents of four.
