Hall of Fame
Michael Palmquist, a MIAC cross country champion in 1976, was runner-up in 1977 and 1978, and earned All-American honors in 1977, 1978 and 1979. Was MIAC champion in the mile/1500 run and the 3 mile/5000 run in 1978, 1979 and 1980. In 1979 and 1980, was named Randy Bartholomaus Outstanding Athlete. Also earned All-American honors in the 1500 meter run during all four years at St. Olaf. Currently is a professor of English at Colorado State University as well as director of the university’s online writing center. Has served as a VISTA volunteer and running store owner/manager.
