Hall of Fame
Charles Lunder coached and taught in several high schools before beginning his 25-year tenure at St. Olaf. He was the head basketball coach for the Ole freshman team from 1952-1956, head baseball coach from 1952 to 1967, head wrestling coach from 1953 to 1977, men’s tennis coach from 1967 to 1977, women’s tennis coach from 1975-1977, and assisted in football from 1952 to 1971 and again from 1973 to 1977. Lunder started women’s weight training class at St. Olaf, wrote stories for the Journal of Physical Education, and worked on the Minnesota Health Curriculum.
