Hall of Fame
Christine Aker was a four-time letterwinner in swimming. The 1990 national champion in the 200 medley relay, Aker set school records in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and various relays. She earned All-America honors in each of her four years at St. Olaf in addition to collecting all-conference swims every year. As a senior varsity captain, she also received the Best Sportsmanship award.
After graduating from St. Olaf, Christy earned a Master's of Arts in elementary education from the University of St. Thomas in 1995. She has been working as an elementary school teacher, and has taught kindergarten, first, second, fourth and fifth grades over the last 13 lyears. She has been a Northern Nevada Writing Prokect Consultant since 2000, leading workshopts for other teachers and staff.
She and her husband, Kevin, live in Reno, Nevada with their children Haakon (5) and Lena (16 months).
