David Wee was St. Olaf College’s first cross country All-American with a fourth-place finish in the national meet in 1960. He won three letters each in cross country and track. He was named Midwest Conference Cross Country Champion and Two-Mile Champion in 1960. He is still an active runner with consistently faster times than during his college days. He ran a 9:32 world record two-mile for 38-year-olds in 1978. Wee earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at Stanford. He is an associate professor of English at St. Olaf. He is also active in church and civic affairs in Northfield, Minn.
