A D3football.com Third Team All-American and First Team All-West Region honoree in 2007, Gant is the only four-time All-MIAC selection in program history and one of two wide receivers to be a four-time all-conference honoree, a feat achieved by only 11 student-athletes in recorded conference history.
St. Olaf's all-time leader in receiving yards (3,061), Gant also ranks tied for first in receiving touchdowns (27), second in receptions (185), third in receptions per game (4.62), ninth in yards per reception (16.55), and 10th in all-purpose yards (3,372), while holding the single-season mark with 12 touchdown catches in 2007. He went on to sign with the then-Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2008 and was signed by the then-St. Louis Rams in 2009. Gant also was a sprinter for St. Olaf's indoor track and field team in 2005 and 2006. He currently ranks tied for sixth on St. Olaf's all-time indoor list in the 55-meter dash (6.59) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (22.94), while also running on the second-ranked 4x200-meter relay (1:31.17).
