Emily Sather Tweed '95 was a four-time letter winner in volleyball and softball at St. Olfa. She was All-Conference three times and a two time captain in both sports. She was twice volleyball's MIAC Player of the Year and team MVP. As a senior, she was Al-American and once named the American Volleybal Coaches Association Division III National Player of the Week. Emily was Academic All-Conference in softball her junior and senior years and received the MIAC Award as a senior. Emily was a softball coach and player for the Solvesborg Softball Club in Sweden for two years. She is an active member of the USAV and participates in adventure races, triathlons, and marathons. At the University of Minnesota she earned a masters in 1998 and a doctorate in 2004. In 1998, she received the Lee Knefelkamp Research Award, for her masters thesis on the effects of English as a second language on academic performance in professional education. Emily works as the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students at Northwestern Health Sciences University. She adn her husband, Joshua Tweed, have a son, Jackson, who will be 2 in November.
