Megan Daymont Thomas, a six-time All-America honoree, enters the St. Olaf Athletics Hall of Fame as one of the most accomplished track and cross country athletes in school history. Daymont Thomas qualified for the NCAA Championships in each of the 12 seasons she could have. She earned six All-America honors - three in indoor track and field (800m in 2002, 2003 and 1500m 2001), two in outdoor track and field (800m in 2002, 2003) and one in cross country (2002). Daymont Thomas was 12th at the 2002 NCAA Championships to earn All-America honors. A two-time conference champion (2001, 2002), she helped St. Olaf to conference titles in each of her four seasons. She was All-MIAC each of her four seasons (she finished third in each of her first two seasons) and was a four-time NCAA All-Region runner four times. She finished seventh as a first year, third as a sophomore and was the region’s runner-up in her final two seasons. Entering the 2013 season, her times ranked in the top five all-time at St. Olaf. Her 6k (21:53) was fifth, 5k was fifth (17:41) and her 4k was fourth (14:52). In indoor track and field, she was the league’s Most Outstanding Athlete in each of the four championships she competed in and was twice (2002, 2003) the NCAA Central Region Indoor  Track and Field Athlete of the Year. A 10-time MIAC champion, she won four 1500-meter race at the league championships, won three 1000-meter titles, two 600-meter and another in the 800. Her conference record time in the 1,000-meter time (2:54.28) stood until earlier this year, while her 600 time (1:33.98) is still a record.
She holds four school records -- in the 400m, 600m, 800m and 1000m -- and has four other top tens on the school’s all time list. In outdoor track and field, she was a four-time qualifier for the NCAA Championships in the 800 and 1500. She had two top three finishes to earn All-America honors, in the 800, in each of her final two seasons as she was runner up in 2002 and finished third in 2003. Daymont Thomas was also a national qualifier on the Oles’ 4x400 relay team in 2003. She was a six-time MIAC champion, winning the 800 and 1500 three times each. She was twice the league’s Outstanding Outdoor Track Athlete (2000, 2002) and still holds the MIAC’s 00-meter record (2:09.77). She was the program’s most valuable athlete in each of her four seasons. In all, she was a team captain six times, team MVP six times, earned 12 academic all-conference honors and was a two-time Academic All-America honoree.
Daymont has worked as a consultant and analyst since graduating and currently works for Bausch and Lomb. She and her husband Chad reside in Eden Prairie with their two children, twins Parker and Quinn.
