Keith Peterson was an All-America pitcher for the St. Olaf baseball program. Peterson, a native of Waupaca, Wis., played for the Oles from 1981-84. He was a two-time all-conference and all-region honoree. He served as captain during his senior season and led the Oles to two MIAC championships (1981 and ‘84). He earned All-America honors in his final season. Peterson had a career record of 19-8 with a 2.39 ERA and 190 strikeouts. He holds the Ole record for single game strikeouts with 17 vs. Nebraska Wesleyan on May 20, 1982. He also holds the number two spot on the single season ERA mark list with an ERA mark of 1.05 (1984 season). Peterson graduated from St. Olaf in 1984 Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1984. After college he was a Social Studies teacher at Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, Wis., where he also coached basketball and baseball from 1984-88. Peterson is a Social Studies teacher and basketball and baseball coach at Brainerd High School. He resides in Baxter, Minn. with his wife Jane. They have two children, Kevin and Blake.
